Doctors again drew attention to the benefits of the Mediterranean diet for the heart, while at the same time noting the negative effects of foods containing a high value of the glycemic index. Data from 189 studies spanning more than fifty years, based on both surveys and volunteers invited to experiment with diet, were examined.
As a result, it was confirmed that the right diet is the main way to prevent cardiovascular diseases. More precisely, a diet that includes vegetables, cereals, olive oil is most useful for the heart.
Vitamins E and C, contained in fish, vegetable oil, and fruits, also strengthen the heart. Meat, eggs and milk supply the heart with alpha-linoleic acids, which also has a positive effect on the heart.
But do not forget that diet is only prevention, and is not able to completely eliminate the risk of stroke.
