Everyone considers enlarged pores and their complication – acne – one of the most unpleasant cosmetic defects of facial skin. Enlarged pores are observed in oily, seborrheic, dry and mixed skin and occur due to increased secretion of the sebaceous glands. When the pores are enlarged, dust and dirt collect in them, which is noticeable in the form of blackheads or, as they are called in cosmetology, comedones. Blackheads are often the result of using low-quality, cheap cosmetics. Comedones can form not only on the face, but also on other parts of the body - on the chest, back, arms.
Homemade facial cleansing
There are two ways to fight acne: proper facial hygiene and special medicinal cosmetics.
General rules for caring for a face with blackheads include thorough washing 2-3 times with acidic or sulfur soap, regularly wiping the face with lotions with alcohol or camphor, and also avoiding powder, blush, and foundation that clog pores.
If there are a lot of comedones, then they should be removed. Facial cleansing can be done either in a beauty salon or independently at home. First, the skin on your face needs to be steamed well, which will further enlarge the pores. This is done by applying a hot compress or steam bath for 15-20 minutes. Before removing comedones with your hands, you need to thoroughly disinfect your fingers, especially under the nails, with salicylic alcohol. You should not press on the blackheads themselves, since instead of squeezing them out, their contents will be driven inward and inflamed pimples will appear on the face. Better yet, use a special device: a spoon with a hole in the middle.
After removing comedones, the skin must be disinfected with alcohol lotion, and then washed with cold water or treated with cosmetic ice cubes to narrow the pores back.
Next, you need to let your facial skin return to normal, because every pore is an open wound and it needs to be allowed to heal. It is advisable not to apply creams or makeup to your face on the day of cleansing. Do not go out into the sun, do not wash your face with soap, but simply rinse with water.
Salt in the fight against comedones
If the skin has enlarged pores, it is recommended to prepare a concentrated hot soap solution and use not very coarse kitchen salt. Moisten a cotton swab well with soapy water, dip it in salt and clean all areas with blackheads in a circular motion. It is necessary to dip in salt for the forehead, nose, and chin.
