Even at home, you can significantly increase the shelf life of fresh fruits, vegetables, berries and even mushrooms - you just need to put them in the freezer. Unfortunately, not all of them remain the same in shape, but vitamins, taste and aroma are perfectly preserved.
In order for the fruits to be as storable as possible, they need to be properly prepared for freezing: peeled and washed thoroughly. Vegetables are blanched, seeds are removed from plums and apricots. Now the prepared products can be placed in special plastic containers for freezing. The fruits must be tightly packed. Soft berries such as strawberries, raspberries can be frozen in bulk. Spread them evenly on a sheet of paper and carefully place them in the freezer. After freezing, pour them into containers, close the lid tightly and return to the refrigerator.
As soon as the vegetables, fruits or berries in the container are completely frozen, remove the mold from the freezer and place it under a stream of warm water. After the briquette comes off the bottom and walls, it is wrapped in a plastic bag or cling film and placed back in the freezer. If desired, several briquettes can be packed together. It is better to use rectangular molds rather than round ones for freezing. Thus, you will save a lot of useful space in the freezer.
