Despite the fact that a lot of time has passed since the invention of the first diaper, that they are constantly being improved (for the better, I must say) and that not a single mother can imagine life without them, some difficulties still arise with the use of diapers.
You just need to remember a few simple tips so that you and your baby never have any problems, namely irritation, diaper rash and allergies.

How often should a baby's diaper be changed?
Diapers need to be changed every 3-4 hours and each time after a bowel movement. Breathable diapers only breathe when they are clean, otherwise they lose their ability to pass air. Remember, liquid feces are not absorbed into the diaper! This is especially dangerous for girls because the vagina and rectum are very close. Bacteria living in the rectum, once in the vagina, can cause serious gynecological diseases. Therefore, every time after your baby poops, wash the bottom with warm water or wipe with a damp sanitary napkin. For girls, the direction of washing is also important: from front to back.
The next important rule: before putting on the next diaper, let your baby’s skin “breathe” a little.
10 – 15 minutes is enough for this. Thanks to this, the baby will not have diaper rash. If possible, then it is better not to wear a diaper at night or change it every 4 - 4.5 hours. But at the same time the child will have to be woken up. However, if your baby's skin reacts well to diapers, i.e. after the night there is no redness or pimples, you can sleep peacefully.
Remember that for very small children it is very difficult to choose the right size diaper. If it is large, then it will wrinkle between the legs and leak. Try to choose panties that can be adjusted to suit the physiological characteristics of your baby.
If the baby's umbilical cord has not yet healed, be careful too. The navel area should always remain dry to prevent infection from getting there. Treat it with hydrogen peroxide (a few drops are enough) and burn it with brilliant green. Make sure that the diaper does not cover this place, but is simply lower. Adjustable diapers are also suitable for this simple activity, or simply fold down the front edge of the panties.
In addition, try, if possible, to change diapers more often or not to use diapers at all when the air temperature is more than 25 degrees, or if your child has a high body temperature.
Moreover, it is recommended to wear a minimum of clothing on your baby. Diaper rash occurs due to excess clothing, and not due to wearing a diaper.
If your child is prone to allergies, his skin needs extra care. Today, diapers for sensitive skin have already been invented that do not contain latex (this is what causes allergies), in addition, they have increased absorbency, i.e. urine is instantly absorbed before it comes into contact with the skin.
If you follow all these simple tips, your child will never have problems wearing diapers. And you will have more time for yourself, instead of washing diapers, which are already a thing of the past.
