The interior is without a pronounced style. How to choose curtains?

Experts often recommend choosing curtains in accordance with the style of the interior. But the interior decoration of even the most exquisitely decorated apartment does not always have a clear style affiliation.

How to choose curtains,
If the style is not expressed or several styles are mixed in the interior?

Let's look at the features of the shape and color scheme of furniture, small details, walls, and decide what elements the future curtains will echo. If the interior of the apartment does not have a pronounced style direction, but all its components are harmoniously combined, then the "character" in the design is still present.

So, if strict straight lines prevail in the design, then it is better to make the cut of the curtains the simplest. On the other hand, if the finish of the curtain resembles the lace pattern of the floor lamp, which is located in the same room, together they will look quite harmonious.

Light zigzag stripes on large elements of upholstered furniture will go well with corrugated tulle, and an emerald microveil will quite successfully decorate the window, even if the same color is found only on the only armchair standing against the opposite wall.

It is important not to overdo it with any one color. Making the color of the curtains echo the color scheme of the furniture is a good option, unless the furniture occupies almost the entire usable area in the room. Otherwise, there will be an obvious overabundance of this color. In such cases, it is enough to repeat the color of the furniture on the curtain in small details - hooks, inserts, edging, and combine the color of tulle with other elements of the interior.

The color of the walls and the pattern of the wallpaper must also be taken into account. You should not choose curtains to match the wallpaper, with rare exceptions it looks unsuccessful. If you need to knit the color and pattern of the curtains with the walls, then you can take a plain fabric for the curtain a little darker or lighter, and choose the tulle to match the wallpaper clearly and with a similar pattern.

Another interesting option for an interior with an unexpressed style is Photo curtains with photo prints. Their variety allows you to choose a model taking into account all the features of the design of the room, and the curtains themselves become a real highlight of the interior and magically transform it.

It also happens that curtains set the style. Sometimes, for example, a fabric with a small floral print fits well into a room with painted white furniture, bringing the interior style closer to "country". And white drapes with a red geometric pattern in combination with a wooden dressing table will create an interior that is not much different in style from the "old Russian" one.

It is enough to associate the color, pattern or cut features of the curtains with one or more elements of the interior, and they will fit perfectly into the environment!
